Good Gut Ayurveda is committed to protecting your personal information, and this includes maintaining an active SSL Certificate on all Website operations, not just payment processing.

This privacy policy will help you understand how and why Good Gut Ayurveda collects information, how that information is stored, how we access and correct that information, and when we might disclose information to other people.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Information You Voluntarily Submit to the Website: Good Gut Ayurveda may collect personal information from you such as your name or email address. For example, you may voluntarily submit information to the Website by leaving a comment on a blog post, subscribing to a newsletter, or submitting a contact form. Your name and email are stored in Good Gut Ayurveda’s private newsletter service provider database (MailChimp).

Automatically-Collected Information: Good Gut Ayurveda automatically collects certain information about you and the device with which you access the Website. For example, when you use the Website, it will log your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the Website. Good Gut Ayurveda may also collect information about actions you take when using the Website, such as links clicked.

Good Gut Ayurveda may use these session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalized experience on the Website.

Good Gut Ayurveda may use the information collected in the following ways:

• To send you the latest editorial content and blog updates in the form of weekly newsletters and one-off promotional emails. Each email provides you with an option to opt-out (unsubscribe) from Good Gut Ayurveda’s contact database.

• To respond to your comments or inquiries

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

• To track and measure the performance of the blog and individual articles and recipes

• To invoice any Customer (this is you if you buy something from Good Gut Ayurveda) and collect payment, this includes sharing the information entered online when making an online purchase with necessary third parties including payment processors, financial gateways, and the Customers credit card company to authorize credit card payments – this is shared purely for the purpose of carrying out the transaction.

• To co-operate with any government, industry or regulatory authorities

• To protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim; or

• For any other purposes authorised by a Customer or the Privacy Policy

3. THIRD-PARTY USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Good Gut Ayurveda will never share your information or contact details with third parties unless you have explicitly authorized us to be able to do so, such as if you enter a giveaway or contest run by Good Gut Ayurveda in partnership with a third party and you opt-in to receive the third party’s newsletters or marketing material.  

Additionally, the Website may use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the Website. Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies.

The Website currently uses the following third-party service providers:

WordPress and Cloudways – Our hosting platform (Cloudways) and blogging platform (WordPress) may automatically collect information about your computer when you visit the Website, including without limitation the type of browser software you use, the operating system you are running, the Website that referred you, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. Your IP address is usually associated with the place from which you enter the Internet, like your Internet Service Provider, your company, or your school.

Cloudways is our cloud hosting platform, and our cloud server is Linode. Linode is listing as a member of the Privacy Shield Framework, which is GDPR compliant.

Google Analytics – this service tracks Website usage using cookies (see “6. COOKIES” for more information) and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the Website. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.

MailChimp – this service is used for delivery of email updates and newsletters. Good Gut Ayurveda stores your name and email address for purposes of delivering such communications. Please refer to MailChimp’s privacy policy for further information.

Except when required by law, Good Gut Ayurveda will not sell, distribute, or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your consent; however, Good Gut Ayurveda may disclose or transfer personal information collected through the Website to third parties who acquire all or a portion of the Good Gut Ayurveda business, which may be the result of a merger, consolidation, or purchase of all or a portion of our assets, or in connection with any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding brought by or against us.

Automattic (Akismet) – this service is used as a necessary spam filter on my site’s contact form page only. Automatic is collecting all information submitted on this contact form, including your name and email address. They may also collect nonidentifyable user information and cookies. 4. ANONYMOUS DATA

From time to time, Good Gut Ayurveda may use anonymous data, which does not identify you alone, or when combined with data from other parties. 5. PUBLICLY VISIBLE INFORMATION

If you leave a comment with your name, your name, as well as the comment, will be publicly visible. Your email address will never be available publicly.

6. COOKIES

The Website uses cookies to store visitors’ preferences, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, ensure that visitors are not repeatedly sent the same banner ads, customize Website content based on visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends. Cookies may also be used by third-party services, such as Google Analytics, as described herein.

7. ADVERTISING

Retargeting Ads

From time to time, the Website may engage in remarketing efforts with third-party companies, such as Google, Facebook, or Instagram, in order to market the Website. These companies use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the Website.

At this time the Website is not using these features. At such time that we do, we will inform you about how to opt-out.

8. NEWSLETTERS

On the Website, you may subscribe to Good Gut Ayurveda’s newsletters, which are mainly used for informational purposes, but may also be used for advertising and marketing purposes.

All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, Good Gut Ayurveda may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.

9. RIGHTS RELATED TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Opt-out – You may opt-out of future email communications by following the unsubscribe links in any email. You may also notify Andrea of Good Gut Ayurveda at andrea [@] goodgutayurveda.com to be removed from the mailing list.

Forget – In certain situations, you may request that Good Gut Ayurveda erase or forget your personal data. To do so, please submit a request to andrea (at) goodgutayurveda.com Please note that Good Gut Ayurveda may need to retain certain information for record keeping purposes or to complete transactions, or when required by law (e.g. if you have purchased any of Good Gut Ayurveda’s products).

10. SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will not ask you to submit sensitive personal information to the Website, and neither should you volunteer it. This includes your social security number, information regarding race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health information, criminal background, or trade union memberships. 11. CHILDREN’S INFORMATION

This website is intended for the use people 16 and older. The Website does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 16.
