Cinnamon Oatmeal with Milk

Oats are an ideal breakfast grain because it is easier to digest than wheat or corn. Milk is heavy for digestion.

Two powerful herbs, cinnamon and cardamom, are combined with the milk to make it lighter and less mucus forming. We chose almonds to supply proteins because they help to create a spiritual state of mind.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8 almonds soaked overnight
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom

Instructions

  • Soak the almonds overnight and peel them in the morning. Blend coarsely in a coffee grinder, food processor, or chopper with the oatmeal.
  • Transfer oatmeal to a saucepan and add all the remaining ingredients. Use double or triple the quantity of milk depending upon level of dryness in the body. If you have difficulty digesting milk, substitute with almond milk instead.
  • Place the saucepan on medium heat and bring to a boil. Lower the temperature, stir frequently, and cook for about 5 minutes.
